A weatherproof keypad is installed on a drive up pedestal at the entry of the storage facility. Successful entry of any valid keypad number may also be used to open a motorized entry gate. A buried loop on the inside of the gate detects the passage of the tenant's vehicle and will cause the gate to close automatically. If traffic is nominal, the same gate may be used to exit. Optionally, for high traffic facilities, a second gate may be installed to provide an automated exit.
